Welcome to the Ethiopian Knowledge and Technology Transfer Society (EKTTS). Established in 2002, EKTTS is a non-profit organization dedicated to mobilizing educational resources, including books and computers, to support the development of Ethiopia. Working with Ethiopians in the diaspora, international donor organizations, EKTTS has brought more than 1.5 million books and 4,200 computers valued at more than USD 44.3 million to millions of students all throughout Ethiopia. EKTTS’ primary activity is in coordinating the logistics of import, transportation and rural distribution of donated educational materials. Through the support of its donors and cost-recovery fees charged to recipients, EKTTS provides access to critical educational materials – ranging from elementary mathematics to medical textbooks – to students who would not otherwise have such resources. Through strong current partnerships with international organizations such as Computer Aid, Book Aid, Books for Africa, Better World Books, and the International Foundation for Education and Self-Help, EKTTS’ materials have advanced the education of thousands of Ethiopian students. | EKTTS' mission is to mobilize and coordinate support from overseas, local organizations, and individuals for transferring knowledge and technology to bring about meaningful and sizable impact to the economic development of Ethiopia. |
